why I started studying at KISK?

how did I find out about KISK?

I learned about KISK while studying my bachelor’s in Environmental science. I was looking for a new, interesting path, and a friend showed me this degree and shared her excitement with me. I knew about library studies, but I expected that it was “a rigid degree about filing things.” I couldn’t be more away from the truth. After some research and discussions with my friend, I learned that it is a diverse degree showing me skills from many areas and perfect for a person “who wants to do everything,” as I always was. Another important aspect for me was the community. Environmental studies at MUNI has a friendly community surrounding the studies, and I wanted to find a similar home with shared values, interesting events, and ways to help the department.

what do I expect from the studies?

I decided to have the least expectations possible before starting school. I expected new horizons, little culture shock, and new opportunities. During the first months of my studies, The expectations grew bigger and bigger; I learned about new courses I could take, got in touch with my classmates, and rediscovered my passion for books, the publishing industry, and libraries. I expect to be excited and challenged during my studies.

What is my goal?

I would love to get the most out of the courses I have. I don’t want specific grades or achievements. I just want to prioritize things I find interesting and give them the energy they need.
May my studies bring joy, wisdom, clarity, and new opportunities. ✨
