ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Valerie, a curious problem-solver focusing on internationalization, design thinking, and project management.

I have a Bachelor’s in Environmental Science from Masaryk University in Brno, which sparked my interest in sustainability and global perspectives. I’m pursuing a Master’s in Information & Library Studies at Masaryk University, focusing on service design and developing an educational board game as my Master’s thesis project. I’ve participated in two international exchange programs. I spent a year at a Lycée Xavier Marmier in France when I was 17, and I learned more about Human-computer interaction during my Master’s exchange at Salzburk University. You can read about my experience here and see my design projects here

My professional background includes experience in communication, event planning, HR and working with diverse teams. I’ve managed social media for DofE Czech Republic, created content for Humbook under Albatrosmedia.cz, and led teams as President and Events Manager at ESN MUNI Brno. I am a training coordinator and mentor at ESN Czech Republic and currently working as a global people relations intern at Red Hat. These roles have helped me develop skills in communication, teamwork, and organizing events. You can learn more about my work and volunteering experience here

I’m comfortable using tools like Office 365, GSuite, Slack, Notion, and Canva, and I’m fluent in Czech and English and advanced French. Outside of work, I run Zacitarna, a book community on Instagram, and enjoy board games, cooking, climbing, and exploring new cultures.
