I was skeptical about starting my second week of MOOC after my criticism on the first week of the course. The course was a little bit more engaging this week. The videos presented me with new points and theories, and I learned something new.
Dr. Kathryn W. Jablokow showed us four principles of creative diversity and how we can measure it. She said that the creative diversity of a person is created by four variables: creative level, creative style, motive, and opportunity. Every combination creates a person with different advantages, and every variety is suitable for different problems and areas. We also had a task to go through a test estimating our creative style, and my result was that I am Mildly innovative, which is quite suitable. I would love to discuss the topic personally with the creators of the MOOC because I disagree that our creativity doesn’t change. I believe we are adaptive personalities, and sometimes we can be creative in a structured way, and other times we fire one idea after another.
I am still hopeful that I will learn more information next week. This course makes me reflect on my thinking and processes in my brain, but it still feels like a trailer to the class and not a course itself.
