As a person doing Bookstagram, fulfilling the challenge of creating a small CAMPAIGN for a book, film, or series and trying to promote it on your social media profile comes naturally to me. But I decided to level it up by promoting the book with a Cosplay photoshoot.

Little background

I started promoting books on my Instagram called Začítárna in September 2017, when I was 16 years old. During the past six years, my identity as a creator has changed and evolved many times. I worked on my style and did different types of posts and photos in each period. One thing always stayed: I took the photos alone, or my friends and family helped me, and I stylized them based on the theme of the book. I never did a full book cosplay with a wig and everything and had a photoshoot focused just on that.

My close friend Alžběta released her third book in September, and I knew that it was a great opportunity to help her promote it. I read all of her books and was a beta-reader for the last two, so they are really close to me.

Hundreds of years ago, a magical apocalypse split the world in two. No one knows exactly why, and Searcher Robin Pemberton hopes to become the first scientist to find out. So she doesn’t hesitate to take risks and travel to the Old World, where magic still works, but is fickle and can kill. Kai Austen, captain of the Boundary Guardian Unit, knows this. His brother accompanied the scientist on one of his expeditions and never returned. Kai can’t let her forget that, and during a confrontation he chases her through the Boundary to the other side. Due to the omnipresent threats, they form a fragile alliance and soon find that the magic of the Old World has begun to rot. Can they avert the impending end that could consume the entire continent in time?

I loved this challenge so much! It was hard to feel comfortable in front of a camera and walk around the forest casually with a wig. But I enjoyed it very much and I would love to do it again!
